Well it has been 2 years

Well it has been 2 years but I am back. I have good friends who are helping me to try this again. It is the first time in the two years that I have had anyone to help me even find this blog. I am at "Quilts in the Barn" in Wonga Park, Australia. We have Chintz Quilts. Lots of Chintz Quilts. Today was sunny and bright with lots of visitors to see the Dutch Chintz from Den Haan & Wagenmaker Store in Amsterdam. Come by and see the exhibit and buy some chintz fabrics. WE have lots of helpers, Jenn Murray , Irene Blanck, Margaret Mew, Meredithe Clark, Kim Bastiani, Jill Pearce, Liz Roberts, Alison Gardener, Di Hall and many more. If I have missed you it is the margarita. I am sorry. I will try this again tomorrow night. Thanks for checking to see if I have posted in the last two years. Some of these ladies even said they checked last night. That is why we are trying this now. When I am rested I will share my trip from Sydney to Melbourne. The trip from Hell! But we made it and we are happy we got here. Mary.

Picking cherries

We left on our trip with a stop in LA to visit with my Dad. This morning we went next door to the neighbors annd picked cherries for eating and for a fresh made cherry pie. Dad's wife Helen made a wonderful cherrrypie from the cherries we picked. Joe took photo,s of judas and I picking cherries together. Every time I have visited with my fathr in the summer I have picked cherries at the neighbors,it is a memory that I will always have. Oh yes, and we ate more than we picked. Helen even thought we might have to go back across the street to pick more but we made it even with 1/2 cup more than she needed.
We went to church with my father last night to a meeting where we listened to a wonderful presenter who told us about Dog tags for soldiers kids project. You can go to the website www.dogtagsforkids.com and read all about it. It is a fascinating story of a women who is helping out. She needs our help with donations she does this ALL for FREE every bit of it. she is from my dads area. And she needs our help. Please pass this on.
I get to spend Father's day with my Dad for the first time in years. It will be a good day for him and me. tomorrow night we hope to get on our flight, we are flying United and they say it may take a day or two to get back on schedule. I will let you know how it is going from the airport lounge. My father lives about one and half hours from the airport so we will go early to the airport and enjoy the lounge till we board about 10 pm. Hopefully we will sleep and then enjoy the rest of the trip. The flight will be 15 hours. I have my kindle and of course the movies on board. Sydney will be here soon. We are to arrive around 6 am Tuesday morning, but we leave on Sunday night and it is only 15 hour flight, well we all know time change. When we come home the best thing happens we gain a day. Always a good thing.
Till later. Hugs, Mary

Getting ready for the trip to Sydney

It is almost June first and I will be counting the days before I leave on an exciting trip, first to visit my father in LA for a few days then off to Sydney where I am going to meet up with Petra, Nel, Carol, Isabelle and Guy to see the quilt show and after a few days of we will go by car to Melborne. Everyone keeps telling us to fly but we will be in the car laughing and stopping when we want and making side tours whatever we want to do we will soooooooo we are going to drive.
I need to look at the weather and I am going to try to take as few clothes as possible. I always wanted to get on a plane with just a ticket and a toothbrush. Now. I want to be a little more organized. Joe and I went to France one year and forgot a bag the one bag that had all of our toiletries in it. We had to go to the store and buy everything and that really wasn't a lot of fun so now I will take a trip with the important things and then buy whatever I want.
I like to put all of my clothes in the extra room and lay them all out and everyday remove something. I always feel like I have to take lots of clothes but then I never wear them all. I will try to post things before I go to let you know how it is going and of course while I am gone too. Petra will be blogging so I will have my own helper along. I am very proud of myself for finding this today so I could blog again.
